The Kissing Hand Keepsake Craft

Happy National Book Lovers Day!

To celebrate I wanted to share one of my favorite books, especially during Back to School time, The Kissing Hand.

The Kissing Hand is the perfect book to get your little one ready for school so I decided to create a fun keepsake craft book pairing activity idea to go along with it,

Supplies:

  • Canvas from Dollar Tree
  • Paint
  • Red construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Steps:

  1.  Cover your little ones hand in paint and press on the canvas
  2. Cut a red heart out of construction paper and carefully glue in the middle of their handprint
  3. Let dry

That’s it! This is such a fun craft to pair with the book and makes for the perfect keepsake craft to remember the size of your little ones hands (don’t forget to date the back!)

You can also cut out TWO hearts while doing this craft and keep one to place in your child’s backpack or lunchbox on their first day as a reminder.

  1. I love this book! When I was a Montessori teacher, we had it on the bookshelf at the very beginning of the school year. It’s hard for the littlest ones at the beginning of the school year. I also love your adorable canvas craft idea that goes with it!
