Water Play Activity: Water Wars

DIY Water Wars Party

Hey friends, it is getting HOT outside so I’ve teamed up with some of my blogger friends to share water play activity ideas.

For our water play activity idea we decided to host a Water Wars backyard party. This was such a simple and fun way for my son and his friends to cool off on a hot day. There are many ways you can host a Water Wars party, for ours we decided to set up 4 different stations that I’ll share below.

Water Balloons

For this station I simply  picked up a few bags of water balloons from our local Dollar Tree, filled them up, and placed then in a plastic bin (also from Dollar Tree.)

Water Guns

Similar to the water balloons station, this was super simple! I purchased THIS 12 pack of mini water guns for $3.97 and a few of THESE larger water guns for .97 each from Walmart. I placed the water guns inside a plastic bin filled with water so the kids could refill easily.

Slip & Slide

I found THIS slip and slide on Amazon that was the perfect addition to our Water Wars water play activities. This particular slip and slide had two sides and inflatable body boards so the kids can race each other down the slip and slide without getting rashes from sliding directly on their stomachs.

Pool Noodle Lightsabers

For our last water wars water play station we had pool noodle lightsabers. You can find the easy DIY tutorial HERE. I premade the lightsabers and the kids loved dueling with them, but if you’re looking to add a craft to your kids summer party you could simple cut the noodles ahead of time and have the other supplies out for your party guests to decorate their own.
