Fine Motor Flower Play Toddler Activity

Happy friday! I am feeling ALL the spring vibes and wanted to share this fun toddler spring activity, Fine Motor Flower Play. This toddler activity helps toddlers develop fine motor skills AND is an inexpensive DIY play idea using only supplies from Dollar Tree.

Wedding Flower arrangement

Supplies:

  • Fake Flowers
  •  Flower Pots (we found a 12 pack of plastic potting ones at Dollar Tree)
  • Floral foam block
  • Wire cutters
  • Knife

Steps:

  1. Prepare materials for play by separating and cutting the flower stems with wire cutters and cutting the floral foam block down to fit inside your pots. Please make sure the area on the stems you’ve cut are not sharp, tape over or trim if so.
  2. Place floral foam blocks inside pots and stick one flower in each to show your child
  3. Have your child build their own flower pots. This will help develop fine motor skills for example pushing in the flowers, pulling out the flowers, and grasping.
