Summer Sensory Play

Hey friends! I cannot believe it is July already! If you are like me summertime is spent mostly outdoors enjoying every ounce of sunshine, so I’ve been brainstorming some fun outdoor activities to help promote learning and growth because this mama loves sneaking education into play (shh!)

While we have been loving splashing in the pool and water table, we decided to have a little sensory fun under the sun yesterday and instead of filling up our water table with just water, we added THESE water beads. This brand of water beads from Amazon grew quickly (yay!) so we were playing in no time.

For my younger son (2) we added some of our beach and water toys to explore the textures and movement of the beads. For my oldest son (9) we filled up empty balloons with the beads to make our own stress balls. You can check out some of the fun in the pictures below.

I have linked the water beads we used and some water tables for you to shop HERE with Like To Know It in case you are in the market for one, our Little Tikes water table is sold out, but I found a few similar ones currently available. If you do not own a water table, you can also fill up empty plastic tubs, a toddler pool, or even the bath with these beads (a great alternative for a rainy day!)

  8. My daughter loves sensory play any day. Outside, our sensory play has mostly been sand and water tables. She loves her sand box right now and filling her dump trucks with sand.
