A Magically Delicious St. Patrick’s Day Treat!

So I was strolling down the aisle at my local Target last week and stumbled upon Lucky Charms Magically Delicious Marshmallows – yes, you read that right, LUCKY CHARMS MARSHMALLOWS! I was instantly mind blown as I had no idea these even existed.. I literally used to eat just the marshmallows out of the Lucky Charms cereal box.. so of course, I needed to buy a few bags.

With St. Patrick’s Day approaching I thought these would make a nice festive twist on traditional rice krispie treats so I snatched a box of Target’s Market Pantry brand Toasted Rice cereal (similar to Rice Krispie cereal) while I was there. Needless to say, the end result was MAGICALLY DELICIOUS. Scroll down for the recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups* of Toasted Rice or Rice Krispie cereal
  • 10 oz of Lucky Charms Marshmallows (approx 1.5 bags)
  • 3 TBS butter

Instructions:

These were SUPER easy to make. I simply followed The Original Rice Krispie recipe found HERE. *

To give the treats an extra festive look after transferring them to the pan and letting them cool for approximately 3 minutes, I pressed some of the leftover marshmallows from the second bag into the tops then continued to let them cool.

*As you can see I cut down the number of cups of toasted rice cereal used as I prefer mine to be more gooey, if you prefer harder treats use 6 as The Original recipe suggests.
