DIY Valentine’s Day Kids Bouquets

I LOVE to craft and with Valentine’s Day approaching, I figured it was the perfect time to share my very first Craft Corner post with some simple (and yummy) DIY Valentine’s Day Kids Bouquets!

First up is this lollipop bouquet I made for my oldest son.

Supplies:

  • Dum Dum Lollipops (approx. 200)
  • Small Terra Cotta Planter or Clay Pot (I purchased mine at Walmart)
  • Foam Ball (I used a 4.7 inch from Walmart, however, this will vary based on the size planter/pot you have chosen)
  • Optional: Tulle or Ribbon, Glue, Heart Picks (from Dollar Tree), & 1 Flower Seed Packet

Steps:

  1. Place the foam ball in the planter and insert one heart pick (or lollipop if not using picks) into the top center of the foam ball to create a visual starting point.

  2. Next, from the center make a line in either direction. Continue doing this until you have four lines/sections as shown.

  3. Now simply fill in each section until the whole ball is covered.

  4. Lastly, I glued a tulle bow to the front of the planter and since Landon loves to garden I taped a packet of flower seeds to the back for us to use with the planter in the springtime.

Since my youngest isn’t allowed to have candy yet I decided to make a bouquet out of his favorite snack, Gogo Squeez pouches. I actually had all of the supplies for this bouquet on hand which made it even more convenient!

Supplies:

  • Gogo Squeez pouches (I used 3)
  • Wooden skewers or dowels
  • Wrapping paper
  • Tissue paper
  • Tulle or Ribbon
  • Tape
  • Optional: Heart Picks & Rubber bands

Steps:

  1. First, tape the skewers to the back of the pouches individually. Then bundled the skewers together at the end and taped them all together (I used packaging tape since I had this on hand, but you could also use tight rubber bands.)
  2. Next, cut a sheet of wrapping paper a tad bigger than your sheet of tissue paper. Lay the cut wrapping paper patterned side down and place the tissue paper over it.
  3. Place the bundled of pouches/skewers in the corner diagonally as shown. Fold each side over the skewers as if assembling a floral bouquet -use tape were needed to hold in place. (YouTube has great quick tutorials if you need on bouquet wrapping. I, unfortunately, was trying to rush since Adrian was getting fussy and forgot to take a picture of this step – sorry!)
  4. To finish up the bouquet I inserted the heart picks for decoration and wrapped the bottom together with tulle to reinforce the bouquet’s structure.

Both of these were super easy to make, inexpensive, and only took about 30 minutes each.

2021 Update:

WOW I cannot believe it has been a YEAR since I’ve shared these – 2020 was a wild ride.

Since these were such a hit with the kids last year, I wanted to re-shared them on my Instagram HERE for anyone needing some last minute Valentine’s Day treats or gift ideas.
